Foreign company dealing with digital map data collection for their new office in Dnepropetrovsk is looking for a Head of cartography department (Team Leader).
General purpose of the Team Lead role:
Oversees the day-to-day activities of assigned members of a project team to ensure that the tasks and processes necessary to complete the project are being performed within the prescribed timeframe.
Give professional support for the team members, organize and coordinate the work in order to meet the quality- and deadline requirements; at the same time the Team lead also makes fieldwork- and coding job.
Job responsibilities:
- Implements work plan and assigns tasks to project staff
- Create and update the database of a limited territory: consists of gathering and updating geographical and touring information directly from the field and updating the database accordingly
- Confers with project staff to outline work-plan and to assign duties and responsibilities
- Manages and tracks activities of project personnel to ensure project deliverables are progressing on schedule
- Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems as needed
- Approves weekly time reports for project staff in the absence of the project manager
- Makes recommendations to Project Lead regarding workflow processes and improvements
- Prepares and conducts project staff performance appraisals with input from Project Lead
Requirements to the candidate:
Formation: Degree in cartography, geodetic or geographic science from a Ukrainian university
Operational experience: 2-3 years of (project) management experience typically required for this level of responsibility.
Demonstrated people management experience is also requirement.
Knowledge of foreign languages: English-fluent is a must
Knowledge of the personal computer: ARC GIS knowledge and experience in working with that software.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically with Excel and Word.
Additional requirements:
Valid driver's license with good driving record required.
Experience in international structures
- Knowledge of data collection and the database required
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills both Ukrainian and English
- Ability to operate independently with proficient organization and planning skills
- Ability to travel within and outside project coverage area.
We are looking for a local (from Dnipropetrovs’k) candidate who would be trained in our Kiev office.
